In 1995 it was 50 years ago that the second World War ended. During the Dutch commemorationperiod of May 4th and 5th, I made an installation in a house in Staalstraat, in the former Jewish quarter of Amsterdam. Research proved that in 1942 all inhabitants were rounded up and deported to Auschwitz. In memory of these people, I designed a work dedicated to the building and the individuals. For a few days I projected a video against a floorplan of the house. Along with Textualdetails of the history faces of Jews, with the same age and gender were projected constantly.
